Common questions

Where can I download Worden?

Worden is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone. The download link will appear on our home page when it is available. It requires iOS 17 or later. Android support is planned for a future release.

Does Worden work offline?

Yes. The Bible texts, word-study resources, and search model are bundled with the app. Reading and search work without an internet connection or account. External links and optional Apple speech-model downloads require a connection.

How do I use voice search?

Hold the Search tab, wait for the ready tap, speak, and release to search. Slide away to cancel. You can also tap the microphone in Search to start and tap again to finish. After granting first-use permissions, start a new attempt.

Voice search uses on-device English speech recognition where supported. If it is unavailable, type your query. Advanced search includes setup for enhanced voice recognition on supported devices.

Why is a meaning or pronunciation missing?

Some source words do not have a gloss, dictionary meaning, or pronunciation guide. Worden labels missing information and uncertain links. Pronunciation guides are approximate learning aids. English and original-language verse numbering can also differ.

Search by meaning is experimental: results can miss relevant passages or include weak matches. Try an exact word or phrase, or use Lexical in Advanced search.

Where are my saved passages?

Open Saved in the bottom tabs. Saved contains your bookmarks; Recent contains your recent study passages. This information is stored locally and does not automatically sync between devices.

How do I delete my data?

Remove saved passages individually in Saved. To remove all Worden data on your iPhone, delete the app rather than offloading it. Manage any device or iCloud backups separately. See our privacy policy for details.

Where can I find Bible and study-source credits?

In the reader, open Reading options → About Worden → Sources & licenses. Source notices and licenses are bundled in the app and can be read offline. You can also export the licensed Greek annotations there, or get the same reusable files on our sources page.
